Lavender
Relaxation & Sleep Quality
A classic chamomile-adjacent herb for sleep, lavender has been shown to support relaxation, calm the nervous system, and improve sleep depth and quality. Its soothing aroma alone signals the body to prepare for rest.
Passionflower
For Racing Thoughts & Anxiety
One of the most effective herbs for calming an overactive mind. Passionflower works by increasing GABA — the brain chemical that helps quiet mental chatter and promote deeper sleep.
Goji Berries
Natural Plant Melatonin
Goji berries contain a natural source of melatonin that may help regulate your sleep-wake cycle. A wonderful addition for those who prefer gentle plant-based sleep support over synthetic melatonin.
Holy Basil
Calms the Mind + Regulates Stress Response
A deeply grounding adaptogen. Helps lower cortisol, calm nighttime anxiety, and reset natural sleep rhythms — making it a gentle, herbal answer to “tea that helps you sleep.”
Wild Lettuce
Natural Sedative for Pain & Restlessness
Traditionally used for insomnia, restless legs, and nighttime body tension. This herb is a natural sedative that helps relax the body and ease pain that can wake you up.
White Pine Needle
Nervous System Calm
Rich in terpenes that help reduce stress, soothe the nerves, and support deeper, more refreshing sleep.
FAQs
What herbal tea helps you sleep the best?
Herbs like lavender, passionflower, and wild lettuce are some of the best teas for sleep, shown to calm the mind and promote deeper rest. This blend includes all three.
We find that most report back that not only were they able to fall asleep, most importantly they were able to "stay asleep" throughout the night.
Is this tea stronger than normal sleepytime tea?
Yes — this is not just chamomile in a cup here. This blend contains natural sedatives and calming herbs traditionally used for insomnia and anxiety.
We have multiple customers who were able to go off of sleep-aid medications, to using this tea alone.
Does sleepytime tea really work?
Basic sleepytime teas can work for mild restlessness, but many people need deeper nervous-system support, especially in the modern world today.
That’s why we include Passionflower and Wild Lettuce — more effective nighttime herbs that aid with achieving deep sleep.
Is this safe to drink every night?
Yes — all herbs are gentle, non-habit forming, and safe for nightly use for most adults. We do not recommend combining this tea with any sleep aids unless under the advice of a medical professional.
Can this tea help with RLS or body tension?
Most likely, yes. Wild Lettuce and Passionflower may help ease physical restlessness, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. The Wild Lettuce is also known to reduce mild pains, which can be helpful for those who may wake up due to sore joints or muscles.
Can I take this with my sleep medication?
No — this tea is not recommended to combine with any sleep medications. (Even OTC)
Restful Sleep Tea contains naturally sedative herbs such as Wild Lettuce and Passionflower, which work deeply on the nervous system and are traditionally used as natural alternatives to pharmaceutical sleep aids.
Because this blend is a direct replacement for sleep meds, combining the two may lead to excessive sedation, dizziness, or next-day grogginess.
Most customers use this tea instead of prescription or OTC sleep products
Will this make me go to the bathroom in the night?
It shouldn’t — as long as you brew it in a smaller amount of water. We usually recommend just 2 oz of liquid.
Because this is a sleep tea, you don’t need a full mug to get the benefits. The herbs work just as well (and often better) when brewed as a concentrated cup. (Or a "sleep shot" is what we call it around here.)
